Scuba
Diving at Caño Island: Probably the best diving in
Costa Rica, characterized by big fish, big schools of fish, the best
visibility, and the possibility of viewing hammerhead sharks and whale
sharks. This is "big" Pacific coast diving for intermediate
to advanced divers.

Hiking
through Corcovado National Park - Corcovado remains a remote and
unspoiled wilderness. Guided hikes are a must, because the birds and
wildlife are well-camouflaged in the dense forest. Corcovado is one
of the last remaining havens for large, rainforest mammals. This is
a tropical rainforest - exactly what you imagine when you think of Costa
Rica.

The
Canopy Tour: Hiking, traversing on overhead cables and rappelling
in the tree tops make the Canopy Tour an exhilarating experience. This
is a great adventure for most everyone and no prior experience is needed.

Fishing:
World-class Sportfishing and Inshore fishing can be found on the
South Pacific Coast. October - January tend to be the best months for
deep-sea fishing, but yellowfin tuna, dorado and wahoo can be found
year-round. Inshore fishing in this area is excellent, particularly
for roosterfish.

Horseback
Riding: Horseback riding in the South Pacific Coast Region offers
a variety of trails, length and difficulty. You can choose from riding
along the beach, waterfalls, crossing streams, visiting villages and
seeing the pre-columbian stone spheres. This is a good way to see remote
rainforest not always traveled by foot.

Snorkeling
at Caño Island: Caño Island offers the best underwater
visibility in Costa Rica. Large fish, big schools of fish and many pelagic
species can be found here. But strong surges and currents can make this
difficult. Some full-day tripscombine snorkeling with hiking on Caño
Island where there are some mysterious ancient stone spheres.
