Jungle
River Cruise:
The Tarcoles River on the central Pacific Coast is full of Crocodiles, Scarlet
Macaws, over 120 species of birds, and hundreds of tropical plant species.
The cruise also features botanic gardens and scarlet macaw viewing in the
afternoon. Many consider this half-day tour to be the highlight of their
vacation. |
  |
Carara
Rainforest Hike: Explore a transitional zone rainforest whcih
is home to scarlet macaws, monkeys, frogs, leaf cutter ants, sloths, and
many other fascinating creatures. Transitional rainforests have a broader
diversity of plant and animal life because they are a transition between
different climate zones. |

|
Sportfishing:
Costa Rica is one of the top 3 Sportfishing destinations in the World. Huge
numbers of Sailfish, Marlin, Tuna, Dorado (Mahi-Mahi) and Wahoo inhabit
Costa Rica's Pacific Coast year-round. Sportfishing is seasonal so the type
of boat and experience of the crew are critical factors in having a great
fishing vacation. Planning the perfect fishing vacation is our specialty.

|
Sunset
Cruise:
Experience the dramatic coastline of the central Pacific Coast, searching
for dolphins, manta rays, turtles and whales aboard a comfortable, luxurious
yacht from the Los Sueños Marina. Experience the sunset and romance
of returning by starlight. |

|
The
Original Canopy Tour: The
original Canopy Tour involves a short hike in the rainforest, traversing
through the treetops on zip lines and rappelling. The Original Canopy Tour
has several locations throughout Costa Rica, so you can perform this from
almost any region. This is an exhilarating adventure for everyone. You do
not have to be in great physical condition, and no prior experience is needed. |
  |
Whitewater
Rafting:
Costa Rica offers some of the best whitewater rafting in the World. Several
rivers offer great rafting, but certainly the best is the Pacuare River.
This magical trip offers Class III-IV rapids in a majestic, virgin rainforest
reserve. One-, Two- or Three-day trips are available. All Pacuare River
trips begin and end in San Jose, so you must be in San Jose the night before
and the night after this trip. Rafting is also available on the Savegre
or Naranjo Rivers on the central Pacific Coast. |

|
Surfing:
Costa
Rica is a surfer's paradise. The North, Central and South Pacific all offer
fantastic surfing. Jaco Beach on the Central Pacific and Tamarindo on the
North Pacific are perfect hangouts for surfers, because the waves rule the
day, and the bars/discos rule the night! Surfing is truly World-class in
Costa Rica. |

|
Golfing:
Several fantastic golf courses are available in Costa Rica. Most are on
the Pacific Coast, others are in the wonderful climate of the central Valley.
These are Championship courses designed by Ted Robinson, Robert Trent Jones,
Jr., Mike Young and others. Great golf has arrived in Costa Rica! |

|
Fishing:
World-class
Tarpon & Snook fishing is found on the Barra del Colorado on the North
Caribbean Coast. Guapote ("Rainbow Bass") and other species are
found in Lake Arenal at the base of the Volcano. Some rivers offer trout
and fly-fishing. Costa Rica has something for every angler. We'll customize
a great fishing vacation for you. |
  |
Diving:
The best diving takes place on the South Pacific Coast around Caño
Island. But the North Pacific also offers good diving. While not primarily
a dive destination, Costa Rica offers big fish, big schools of fish, and
lots of them. Big pelagics and sharks abound in Costa Rica's Pacific waters.
Diving on the Caribbean Coast is not as good. |
 |
Rainforest
Hiking:
Costa Rica is home to several different types of rainforest-all of which
you can hike through. Cloud Forests, Tropical Rainforests, Transitional
Zone Forests, and Dry Tropical Forests are all found in Costa Rica. Most
hikes are not strenuous; but use a guide, because they know what to look
for! |
  |
Horseback
Riding: Horseback
riding is available in several different regions of Costa Rica. Riding on
the coastal areas can be uncomfortably hot, but might give you the opportunity
to ride along the beach. There are many stables available to choose from,
however, we know which tours have the best trails, horses and equipment.
Some hotels have stables on their grounds. There is also an evening horse
show near San Jose with beautiful Andalusians. |
  |
Snorkeling:
is
available on the North, Central and South Pacific Coasts. Not all beaches
on the Pacific Coast are recommended for swimming and snorkeling. Playa
Blanca at Hotel Punta Leona offers the best snorkeling on the central Pacific.
Playa Conchal on the North Pacific has some good snorkeling. Caño
Island on the South Pacific has better snorkeling, but the currents can
be difficult. |
  |
Mountain
Biking:
is available throughout Costa Rica. Experience a great ride descending Irazu
Volcano, beginning at over 10,000 feet above sea level! We would be happy
to arrange your mountain biking experience. Please contact us for more specific
information. |
  |
Aerial Tram: The Rainforest
Aerial Tram has 2 locations: one is near San Jose, the other is on the Central
Pacific Coast. Both are impressive operations where you sit in a tram chair
with a guide high in the air. You will have the opportunity to see trees,
birds, epiphytes and other plants and animals, but you will be high up in
the air. |
  |
Sea Kayaking:
Paddle along the coastline to see a different view of Costa Rica. Excellent
sea kayaking can be done on the Central, North and South Pacific Coast Regions.
Our favorite is on the Central Pacific. This half-day trip takes you to
Costa Rica's top-rated beach along a spectacular mountainous coastline. |
|
|
Turtle Watching:
This is not something to plan your trip around because Mother Nature sets
her own schedule. If the timing is right, you can see these incredible creatures
in the ocean or on the beaches as they lay their eggs. Varieties include:
Green, Leatherback, Hawksbill, Loggerhead and Olive Ridley Sea Turtles. |
  |
Cruise
Ship Tours: If
you are arriving on a Cruise Ship into Puerto Puntarenas or Caldera, we
can arrange a variety of 1-day tours (shore excursions) for you. Our tours
are much more intimate and less expensive than the tours offered by the
Cruise Lines. |
